If you sat through the boring piece of something 2012, cleolinda’s parody recap almost makes it worth the nearly three hours you lost of your life.
The newest episode of Made Of Fail was recorded this weekend and should appear on their community page soon. It’s a great podcast and you should totally subscribe to it in iTunes. P.S. I appear in episode 21.
You already know I’m a musical nut, and probably guessed that I really like Sound of Music, but this version is completely adorable and I’m kinda in love with it. If that doesn’t take your fancy, check out their version of Single Ladies by Beyonce.

I’m not the most romantic person. Okay, I’m a fan of the big romantic gesture, I really am. But weddings? I’m a bit meh about the whole thing, and think Las Vegas sounds like the best way of sorting it out. It’s probably because weddings in our culture has become more important than the marriage, and that weirds me out like no tomorrow. To me, weddings come across as stiff, conservative events that I can’t imagine putting myself as the centre piece of, because it just doesn’t correspond with my reality.
And then these guys come along and make it look cool.

I’m not a dog person, but I’ve watched this clip about ten times now and it cracks me up every time.

I had fully anticipated that all I’d want to talk about today would be The Dark Knight, which I saw at the IMAX last night. Don’t get me wrong, it was fantastic, and you really should see it at the IMAX for the full massive screen effect. But then I thought, you don’t really need yet another post that’s all about how fab it was. Although I have a wink and a nod for in regards to that cameo, which made me grin.
But I wanted to post about something that touched me deeper than The Dark Knight, Randy Pausch, who past away last night. If you say Who? then I hear ya’, I hadn’t heard about him at all until a few hours ago, when I came across an article about him via and thus came across his Last Lecture: Achieving Your Childhood Dreams. Yes, it’s 1 hour and 16 minutes long, but I do urge you to watch it. Here’s a man who has accomplished a lot in his short life, who is dying, and he’s talking about how wonderful his life has been, and how he’s going to have fun for every last minute of it. It’s about going for your dream, pushing against the brick wall and wanting to inspire other people. It’s humbling to watch, and also makes you (or actually, me) think: have I pushed hard enough for what I want? Can I still achieve what I have set out to do?
I looked back at my life in the past year and I am content with what I’ve achieved, how hard I’m working to change my life, to get what I really want, and watching this makes me feel like yes, it’s going to be worth it, not just for what I’ll achieve, but for all I’m learning as I’m going along. Not just coding, but about managing my time, personal motivation and giving it everything I’ve got.
RIP Professor Pausch – you’ve inspired yet another person today. And you made laugh while doing it.
